Campaigning to Save the Beach

There’s a Planning application on Portsmouth Council’s website: http://publicaccess.portsmouth.gov.uk/online-applications/applicationDetails.do?activeTab=summary&keyVal=OCGSJEMOFTB00

Portsmouth City Council have advised QinetiQ to withdraw their Planning Application for the Road to Nowhere – “The principle of a stand-alone access road in the absence of any served development is not accepted, as it is considered that there is no need for the development.”

The application is now going to the Planning Committee in the Executive Meeting Room, Floor 3, Guildhall on 28 June at 13:00

The Report by the City Development Manger concludes with a recommendation to REFUSE

Current Situation 2017 : The beach is still being well used by the public Send your beach reports to info@eastneybeach.org.uk

This site is for anyone interested in the continued Naturist use of Eastney Beach (Portsmouth, Hampshire, UK). Our objective is to ensure that any potential redevelopment, of the disused MoD site (Fraser Range) behind the beach, does not threaten the continued use of Eastney Beach by the public and by naturists. Image of Eastney Our flag   The old Radar Research centre at  Fraser Range doesn’t make the most attractive of pictures, but the view from the beach out to the Eastern Solent and the Isle of Wight is glorious and more than makes up for it! And it’s quiet, with little passing traffic, making it ideal for naturists… Eastney Beach has been used by Naturists for decades. The beach was threatened when QinitiQ put forward a planning application, in 2005, to redevelop the site into high rise blocks of flats – that planning application has since been withdrawn.  View the old home page for some of the history
